Great service! My son had recently bought a used car from a guy down in Littleton. Because of the distance between Littleton and Longmont, we found a mechanic down there to look the car over before we bought it. We were told that overall, the car was in pretty good shape but that it needed a couple of new Tie Rods that would probably run about $700.00 - $800.00 to get fixed. We went ahead and bought the car knowing about the work needing to be done. We wound up taking the car to Tom in Longmont to get fixed and Tom discovered that the Tie Rods were actually fine but that the Strut brackets were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. Tom replaced the brackets (for about half the cost of the Tie Rods) and the car now drives like it's right from the factory! The car was also washed when we got it back from Tom! I own a retail service business and customer satisfaction is everything to me! I couldn't be more pleased with Tom's skills and service!

Tom and Laura run a top notch shop in Hands On Auto Tech and it shows in the many reviews like this one they have received. In fact it was the number of stellar reviews that caught my attention and got me to contact Hands On Auto Tech in the first place.
I have a good size family and our 2003 Ford Windstar is the only vehicle that will transport the lot of us. It has started to lose power and act as if it would stall out anytime we came to a stop. I needed it repaired quickly so that our family had reliable and safe transport again.
I took it to Hands On Auto Tech and asked that they give it a once over and let me know what was needed.
They inspected it quickly and got back to me promptly over the phone and via email. It ended up to be a rather long list of items that were recommended. The list was succinct and prioritized from most critical to least. It had been a while since we had anything but an oil change done so this was not surprising. After a bit of discussion we worked out a little over half of the items to be dealt with on this visit and all the work was performed and the car was ready for pick up the next business day.
The van worked fine on the ride home but the next time my wife used the check engine light turned on and it started to shift poorly. We spoke to Tom and had it in the shop again that night. Turns out that after going through the first items on the list (one of which was a transmission service) a couple of other issues came to a head. Tom and crew diagnosed and repaired these issues and we were able to pick up the van two nights later (as they needed to wait on a Ford part from the dealer that was not in stock).
To my surprise there was no extra charge for this work even though it was not directly related to the previous work done on the van. I am happy to say that the vehicle is running great.
The owners and staff at Hands On Auto Tech offer high quality technical repair and customer service tempered with the realities of life. All in a timely manner with fair pricing and they stand behind their work. I can’t recommend their services highly enough. It is my experience and belief that their work ethic and values will server you and your family well.

As a single mom who knows nothing about cars, I am thrilled that I can take my car to someone I totally trust, who won't take advantage of me. I have been taking my car to Thom, at Hands On Auto now for over a year, and would never go anywhere else.

Amazing mechanic! Very friendly with excellent personal customer service. Their prices are extremely fair. ( They cost about a tenth of mechanics in Boulder ) I have gotten all the work on my car done there, and every time they go above and beyond what I pay them for. I would highly recommend this mechanic to anyone with any car as the head mechanic is also Air Force certified to work on planes, and Naval certified to work on boats. SERIOUSLY, WAY WORTH THE DRIVE! P.S.- I never ever ever write reviews but Hands on Auto definitely deserves the praise. Thank you guys for being awesome and keep up the good work!

Really, truly the best shop I've ever been to - Tom, Scott and everybody else there went out of their way to be courteous, helpful and honest about my vehicle's issues. A perfect place for folks who don't know much about cars. They are very trustworthy and knowledgeable. They will be my "mechanics for life"!

Hands-On Auto Tech produced great results on an older vehicle converting the system to R134A. An estimate was given up front. Several calls with updates were made regarding costs and completion. The cost increase was the result of discovery work during the conversion procedures. The increase was reasonable and justified. The system actually works better now that it did from the factory! They even called back and refunded money because of over payment! The work was completed in a timely fashion. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

Did an oil change and the service tech checked my alternator (which checked out fine) because the light kept coming on and off even after a new battery - the light has since stopped blinking - seamed to just needed to be reset.
Have already told a friend how much I enjoy getting my vehicles serviced there.
