If you care about your eye health, this is the place for you. I've been a patient of Dr Benjamin's for 12 years. He is a great doctor and great human. He and his staff are competent, thorough, and on the forefront of their field. Benjamin Eye Institute. Is superb in every way.

Dr. Benjamin called me personally the day before my scheduled refractive lens replacement surgery to let me know the lens company doesn't make the lens to the power I would need at this time. He urged me to wait a few years until better lenses come out rather than doing what is currently available paired with additional surgery, such as Lasik. I really appreciate his honesty and I followed this advice. My only complaint is that I went through a lot of trouble to decide on having the surgery and coming up with the money to fund it. I wish the research was done up front to let me know the lens I would need is not currently being made. I got my hopes up and in the end was let down and very upset. I appreciate his honesty, but I really wish I hadn't gotten so far into the process before finding out I couldn't have surgery. I also spent about $100 on prescription eye drops and parking for my appointments before finding this out. Losing $100 vs. $8000 is not so bad, but still...not cool. Oh well, I'll try again in a few years and see if the technology is there for my situation.

Dr Arthur Benjamin and his wonderful staff are so helpful and make every step clear in my pre-surgical process. I had already done my research on cataract surgery when I interviewed eye surgeons. The first surgeon was a good technician, but his office was sterile and there seemed to be little room for questions. And his staff was perfunctory and did their job but didn't have much lightness about them. The second doctor I interviewed was supposedly the top guy at a prestigious eye institute, but after keeping us waiting for two boring hours, saw us for only ten minutes, was impatient, and reversed his suggestions, which were the opposite of the first doctor.;
So I had to find a third opinion. Within 24 hours, a friend of mine, knowing I was interviewing doctors, shared with me that a friend of hers had used Dr Benjamin and was very pleased.
So I was able to interview Dr Benjamin, and he was friendly, answered all my questions with patience, he radiated his experience and skill, and the staff were very friendly and light. Immediately, I knew this was my doctor.
I had my cataracts removed and artificial lenses put in both my eyes. Before, during, and after surgery, Dr Benjamin is real, present, and clear. During the surgery, he was calm, focused, precise, and amazingly skilled. He has so many resources and techniques that he is good at, I felt in good hands.
I felt cared for and wonderfully supported throughout my surgical procedure. The post-surgical ongoing support is great too.
I would recommend Dr Benjamin anytime for anyone.

Waited an hour in the exam room for doc to come in, he came in and told me take out my contacts and left again for another 15 minutes. That's way too long to wait (there was no one else even in the waiting room when I got there and I was taken to the exam room almost immediately so I have no idea why the long wait) and it would have been helpful if the nurse who checked me in, and asked if I was wearing contacts, told me to take them out.
