Living in another state I don't get to Brown Aveda nearly as often as I would like, but have been going there since 2008 and have never been disappointed. The prices and quality of professionalism I receive there are amazing!
I had Rose give me highlights this week. She did exactly what I wanted I am very happy. I know she graduates tomorrow. She will have a great career.
I've been going to the Brown Aveda Institute for a couple of years now. The service is unmatched for the price. However what you don't spend in money expect to spend in time. My typical experience there takes over two hours to get a basic hair cut. My last experience ther however took much longer. My appointment was at 10am for my usual basic hair cut. They didn't bring me back until 10:30 even though the front desk had told me they had atleast 10 cancellations that morning due to weather.
I finally get back there and I discover that I am the first client my student has ever seen. She is understandably nervous to cut my hair. But with a lot of help from the instructors and her fellow classmates she ends up doing a great job! The only downside is that I didn't leave until 2:30. That's right it took four and a half hours to do a basic hair cut. I was starving by the end! I don't blame my student. She just wanted to do it right. I blame the instructors who should have stepped in and realized that I had been there way way too long.
I recommend going here if you aren't in a hurry, the price for the services provided is unbeatable!
I was very satisfied with my haircut and style!
I absolutely love Brown Aveda Institute!!! It is the ultimate!!! I started working there about 8 yrs. ago at the front desk, I had my own hairstylist for 15 yrs. prior. She and I also were good friends. After about 4 yrs of watching the students/educators and all the colors, styles etc. I decided it's time for ME!!! I had a color/cut session with a student. That was it!! I fell in love with the entire concept of all the services included with the color/cut such as the mini facial, hand and arm relief and the mini back massage. The oils, sents, products were amazing. The experience = Simply awesome! Since then the students and educators have tweaked my color now using the "deep line" which ended up being the perfect solution for me. I thank all the students I have had in the last few years but certainly want to commend the educations who are truely remarkable. The special discussions, the special touch goes along way. I adore the whole experience and hope to for a long time to come. I have been such great people along the way and truely thank all who have come into my path. Thank you BAI!!!! For everything!!!
Student facial was fine but setting could be improved---room was drafty and pretty chilly. Plus, I waited 30 minutes for my facial even tho I got there exactly on time---and during the wait, NO one said anything to explain or apologize for the delay. Not very good hospitality. Unlikely that I'll drive there an hour again...
I am not very happy with my hair. I had booked for a highlight and came home with darker hair with little dimension. The student was very slow. It took her 5 hours to color my hair.
She seemed very stressed and talked to herself for the entire time. The water in the shampoo room was never the right temperature and the rinse took forever because there was no water pressure. The last hour was awkward because the student was fighting with her sister( also a student) I was a return client but probably won't be back.
My stylist (Lucy) was awesome. Very courteous and caring. I was nervous about getting my hair cut, but she made the experience amazing!!
Jessie (my student stylist) Was excellent. Very professional & friendly I could not have been happier with my service. I highly recommend her!
Montierra (Sorry if spelled incorrectly) Needs additional training on customer service & listening to her clients. She did the complete opposite of what was asked for with my daughter?s hair & when redirected she became obviously annoyed and then continued to do a poor service on my 8 year old. The service was a basic roller set, having graduated from cosmetology school myself I know this is a basic skill that is taught in the first few weeks of school. I thought all students on the floor would be able to accommodate the request. Montierra could not do a basic roller set; the hair was sectioned incorrectly into large sections with an excessive amount of product applied to my daughter hair. After 3 hours of being in the school my daughters hair was still damp when we left. She also stated my daughters hair would not dry because of the products (Smooth Illusions) that I requested. I use these products at home daily & I do not think she understood the appropriate amount of product to use which is as simple as reading the container. Additional supervision & mentoring while interacting with clients is need for Montierra to succeed in this field. I operated my own successful nail business for over 13 years and being kind and listening to your client is just as important as providing a good service; she failed in these areas. With several instructors on the floor I would accept for a roller set to come out perfect every time, it is basic hairstyling.
My 60 min. massage with Rena was fabulous. She was very professional and friendly. I have been coming to the Rocky River location for a couple years now. I have always had a good experience. Thank you for your services.
The service overall was not bad at all. My hair just was not styled the way I wanted it to be. Also she used a rinse on my hair to keep my color but instead just left a bunch of red stains in my scalp.
