Living in another state I don't get to Brown Aveda nearly as often as I would like, but have been going there since 2008 and have never been disappointed. The prices and quality of professionalism I receive there are amazing!

My visits there are always wonderful. The staff is attentive and knowlageable.
I had a 2:00 appointment for a hair cut and eyebrow. I did not leave the facility until almost 6:00. The appointment took much too long; though I can appreciate that my stylist was trying to be precise, it seemed meticulous to a fault.
Furthermore, the closer it got to closing time, the more unprofessional the instructors were behaving. I witnessed two walking while embracing one another, and many times, they would group up with students and chat playfully in full-view of clients. Once 5:00 came, I was within ear shot while one instructor shared stories about his Friday night out with 4 or 5 other students.
Students were running by my chair, and carrying on as if they were just simply in a hallway between classes. Which, while it might be true that they are students, I am still a client and a customer, and their behavior should still be that of professionalism and maturity.
Without clear lines drawn, however, regarding authority, I can see why this is not a practice at this particular establishment.
I have visited this location before, a few years ago, and I received exemplary service, and a beautiful cut in a timely fashion. The instructor supervising my cut was a clear leader and professional in her trade, as was my student stylist. The student clearly heard my wishes and gave me great impur and it was overall, a great experience.
This time was not as pleasant, obviously, and I hope this feedback helps in some way, to make changes regarding the atmosphere and behavior in front of clients.

The recently new sign in method is complete chaos. My last visit I couldn't get to the counter to sign in.

REALLY happy with my cut & color!
I have been coming to Brown Aveda for over 5 years now and 95% of the time am quite pleased. I know going in that it will take extra time but it is always worth it for the price and extra service you receive. This time however I was not happy with the extras or the cut. I have fine hair and was happy to finally have hair of length and asked that as little be cut as possible. The instructor asked if a half inch off would be ok and I said yes of course that is fine. Let's just say she was literally using a picture of Jennifer Aniston and I came out looking more like Jodie foster. The stylist seemed distracted the entire time and on one of her checks I could tell the instructor was surprised she missed some obvious things. The cut itself is fine--if that's what I asked for. I am very disappointed in how short it is and will make sure this stylist doesn't get me again. This was a rare occurrence here. I wouldn't keep coming back if thus was the norm.
