My wife was seen by Dr. Peltan. After seeing her, she tried to bill not only our vision insurance, but also our primary health insurance. There was no special situation. A routine exam. Now they are trying to extort $50 out of us because that is what our health insurance wouldn't pay. This is ludicrous and I have never heard of such a thing. There was no disclosure that there were any mitigating issues requiring them to separately bill our medical insurance in addition to our vision insurance. It is a shame too, because I feel Dr. Peltan is a wonderful eye doctor. My family has gone to her for years. We moved west of Ann Arbor and still we drove to Birmingham rather than see a doctor closer to home. But now, they will lose us as patients over $50. Their billing people are idiots. I wonder how long it will take them to pull this review down.

We appreciate your feedback. When a patient comes in with a medical complaint, it requires an evaluation different from a routine eye exam for glasses. Often times, additional medical decision making along with a treatment plan becomes necessary. With the coordination of benefits between medical care and routine vision care, each insurance covers the appropriate portions of patient's visit and there is no double billing. This minimizes the out of pocket expense for the patient. We hope this gives you a better understanding of the situation.

Great experience. Believe what is best for me was a top priority. Cost of needed supplements was a shock. Also need for a second pair of glasses for computer. Unsure of how to proceed.

Dr Poma is great! She is always punctual with appointments. She does not rush you in and out, but will stay and explain her process through the exam as well as go over her reasoning behind recommendations. She knows how to interact with my small children, as well as adults. I highly recommend her!

I've been going to BVC for some years now but this was my first appointment with Dr. Baxter. She was very pleasant and gave some very good advice regarding my eyecare. That atmosphere is very professional with state of the art equipment. I would definitely recommend going here to others.
