My daughter Alyssa, 5 years old was adviced by her previous dentist to take 16 mg of valium for her filling. I was quite anxious to give her the medicine so I asked her pediatrician if its okay. Even the pharmacist was hesitant to give us the medicine because of the high dosage. Our pediatrician said that valium as high as 16 mg should be given to a child only if it is urgently necessary or if there is a life threatening condition that has to be treated. She even discussed to me the harmful effects of giving valium. That's why I decided to look for a new dentist, and it was Dr. Sharma. I was so amazed how she handled my daughter, i can't imagine how she did her filling for Alyssa "WITHOUT" any anaesthesia nor any any prep medication like valium. My God, she's really the best! She asked me to stay in the waiting area and I guess It really helps not only for me but especially Alyssa, who unexpectedly was so brave and confident during her appointment and her filling just took 15-30 minutes. It never happened to her previous dentist. Of course it was agonizing to see your child being traumatized during their dental visit but with Dr. Sharma, I feel so relaxed because they know how to use psychology and good communication skills with a child. I'm really thankful for her and her staff, I made the right decision to switch to Dental Comfort, they are awesome!!!!!
