Dr. Koos was highly recommended and now I know why. The staff was very friendly. Dr. Koos answered all of my questions and made me very comfortable. Before I knew it the surgery was over and I was sent home with very useful instructions for care. Dr. Koos even called to check up on me that evening. I only gave 4 starts instead of 5 because the doctor told me he would call me but he forgot...:( And I am trying to call the office so that I can talk to him given that I have several concerns of my healing, but I cannot reach them, even though according to the website information it is their office hour right now. I had an abscess and needed a bone graft - the triple header! I am pretty much a huge wimp when it comes to dental repair, and was absolutely DREADING this process. Suffice to say, my worrying was for nothing. Dr. Koos has an extremely natural bedside manner, and for what it's worth, just oozes confidence and ability. 2 things that made me feel MUCH better about having to do all this work. Anyhow, I can reiterate what I read others say here (and honestly didn't fully believe), but I literally did not feel A THING. The anesthesiologist (I believe it was Julie) asked me to pick some music which I did, and we chatted for a bit as I asked her a bunch of questions about the process which she gladly answered. After about 1 minute of laughing gas and an injection (I didn't even feel the needle go in) I was off to a place I can't describe, somewhere between sleeping, dreaming, and relaxing. I asked a question about one of the songs and mentioned that I hoped everything would go smoothly, and Dr. Koos replied "we are all done". AWESOME! Anyhow, I still have several other steps to go in this process, but first impressions are - NO NEED to be afraid of having oral surgery, especially with these guys. Worth every penny. The nurse who was with me during my root canal, was very sweet and helped calm me while I was anxious. It definitely made a big difference to have someone there talking to me and making me feel comfortable. Dr. Koos did a great job, even calling to check up on me later that night. Leti up front was also of great help answering all of the financial questions I had and always had a positive attitude. The only complaint I had was that the woman at the front desk at check-in was not very friendly or helpful. My consultation was very informative, they even took the time to go over what my out of pocket costs would be. The surgery itself was quick. I was a bit nervous but the nurse's comforting bedside manor was very calming. The cutting-edge surgical room was very relaxing, complete with an ipod I could use to adjust the music to my taste. Afterwards my recovery was very smooth. Dr. Koos called to check in on me the night following and made himself available through the weekend via his personal cell phone if needed. It is obvious that ORA Oral surgery values customer service and pays attention to small details. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The prices may be higher than your average dentistry but it's worth it. Recovery has always been easy for me. Dr. Koos gives me instructions and allows me to ask questions. I always enjoy his follow-up phone calls. I will pay however much to be serviced by ORA studios. The presentation of this Eco-friendly facility is classy and comfortable.
