I got the ultimate for $64- and looked forward to the usual pampering I get from other services. THe woman was incredibly nice and friendly but there as less than 5 seconds of massage on my feet or calves as advertised and her touch was so light I barely felt it. I looked around at the other 2 women getting a similar treatment and it seemed consistent so no fault to the nail technician- appeared she was doing what she was trained do... I am tall - 5'10 so the chair ratio to my feet was awkward and the chair was hard and uncomfortable. I know she did her best as trained but it was nothing like I expected- I must admit for $25 I can get an amazing foot massage, paraffin treatment and a much more comfortable char at one of the 3-4 (Asian owned) places in Ballard I have gone to before. I've been going here for years - at first rarely (i.e.; when I mostly broke and couldn't afford it), but they have always done such a good job for me that they are my regular salon AND spa now. I have gotten a few good massages here, but mostly I use them for haircuts (they are ALWAYS good no matter who I am schedule with), facials and bikini waxes. I have never had a bad experience with any of these things at Habitude (and I can't say the same for anywhere else I have visited). It was not only my first time at Habitude, but it was also my first facial. When I arrived I was created warmly, despite the large number of women in the salon section. I was directed up the stairs by someone who immediately offered me tea or water. Get the tea. Aveda tea is amazing and naturally sweet with licorice root. From there she gave a tour of the facility and led me and another guest back to the locker room area where were given robes and sandals, along with our own personal locker for our personal belongings for time there at the spa. The locker room area was clean and inviting - and smelled amazing like the rest of the salon because there were Aveda products everywhere. After I changed I went out to the couch waiting area and sipped on my tea and snacked on some almonds and dried fruit while waiting for the Estitician to come get me. I could have waited in the dry, herbal sauna but decided I would try it out after my facial. When I met Nikole I knew I would be in good hands for the next hour while I had my purifying facial. She was very nice and warm and obviously knew what she was doing and cared about my skin and my experience. Free my consultation where I told her a bit about my skin history, she left the room I changed out of my robe and made myself comfortable on the massage/facial table. It was warmed and comfortable and had a cozy blanket. I was able to relax during the experience easily because of the relaxing Aveda fragrance, calming personality of Nikole, dim lighting, and soft, enchanting music playing overhead. I wish I could explain into words exactly how pampered and special I felt during my facial. It was incredible - even when she was doing the extractions I was so relaxed and knew I could trust her with something I value very much; my face! After an hour of face masques, arm, hand and head massages, and some skin advice moving forward - I changed back into my robe and was told I could enjoy the spa some more before paying for my treatment. With a refreshed cup of tea I headed straight for the co-Ed sauna for a good 20 minutes. I was the only one in there so it was a very peaceful extension of my relaxation treatment. After that I went to the locker room, took a quick shower with some provided Aveda body wash and got dressed to go home. They provide shampoo and conditioner - and a hair dryer too - if you choose to use those things after your spa experience. I believe they even have a waterfall shower available for a small up charge. When I went to pay I found a basket of recommended products with my name on it that Nikole has selected for me. I decided to purchase two out of the six products - the daily exfoliating scrub, and the weekly masque. I quickly booked myself another appointment because I haven't felt so well pampered ... Ever. It was an incredible opportunity for me to do something special for myself and my skin. I left feeling fresh faced and beautiful and didn't put a single stich of makeup ok for the rest of the day! The pregnancy massage was fantastic - I would give it 4/5 stars, however I'm not reviewing that service, I'm reviewing the mani/pedi. I was completely underwhelmed and disappointed by the mani/pedi and will not repeat that service or recommend to friends. I had an express mani/pedi which was overpriced in my opinion compared to the other mani/pedi places I frequent (Frenchy's, In Spa, Hoa) and while the polish is good, the actual mani/pedi wasn't anything special. The pedicurist didn't even use a pumice stone on my heels. I would expect for $47 I would get more than a soak and lotion rubbed on my feet. I will continue to come to Habitude for massages and facials, but will mark fingers/toes off my list.
