After agruing and appologizing the fee was taken of the receipt. Had cabin filter changed and engine air filters changed myself not too long ago. The tehnician made notes on work order that my filters and I quote "very dirty". I can't say if that's a standard language for them or they actually opened the filter housing and checked my filters. Overall, they've been good to me in the past, however this time the experience wasn't very rewarding and pleasant. I really believe that they need to under promise and over deliver on their services. In these days, I see lot of front desk service writers give you underestimate on a specific repair then the bill is 10-15% higher when you pick up the car. On this visit I was told over the phone total charge will be $215.00 and repeated to him if he said $250.00 he said, not $215.00, but $250, he repeated back. When I picked up my car the bill was $242.39. He charged $16.29 for shop supplies and $6.45 enviromental fee. It may not seems too much to most people, but for this economy that's quite of bet. That's about 10% above the estimated amount. Had he said, $250.00 and the bill was $242.39, that would been a great and pleasant surprise for me. I think they need to change their language, I don't mind paying higher, if I am given the right amount upfront before I show up at the shop. That's all I have to say. I am not tryring to knock down the company, I am just being honest of what happened. Yes, perhaps, I will still come back to Frank's because of their knowledge and efficiency, however, it's up to me to ask upfront the total repair cost out the door, so I won't be nickel and dime when I check out. If anything at all, this is a learning experience for myself. They help to relieve some of the anxiety felt especially when the repair situation is unexpected. Once the problem(s) is diagnosed it's explained in understandable terminology. One improvement. I was told at 1pm my car was almost finished just need test drive.I was told someone would call regarding ride to shop. That call did not come until 3pm. If it was not possible for me to get car until 4pm, I just wish some one would have told me. My only problem was thinking that all would be completed with the hour to hour & half from 1 pm call. I also requested and received a vehicle condition report and repair estimate for a minor problem, which did not require immediate attention. The feedback I got was reasonable and level-headed, and I am confident that the folks at Frank's would never recommend unnecessary work to be performed on my car. They also have a very spacious and comfortable lounge area for those who choose to wait for their vehicle.
