Arriving before my appointment I didn't have to wait long before I was taken into the dental chair. It was just a lost filling. The doctor told me he would just need to rough up the edges enough to hold the new filling. It wouldn't be painful so I wouldn't need novocaine unless I wanted it. He said I could take the premed right after the work was done so instead of having to make another appointment and let decay start to build up in the open tooth, the filling was done immediately. No novocaine, no pain, no hours of numbness, no worry! The cost was less than half of what I had expected to pay so I'm a happy patient! Dr. Swihart/Nancy did what they could to ease my tension/whatever pain accompanied the procedure. They were successful in removing the crown then, cracked molar/tooth as a whole unit vs. removing it in parts. The antibiotic prescribed has been completely taken and after a week of careful activity/rinsing, the lower jaw while still a bit tender is healing. It was terrific that Dr. Swihart phoned me at home the day following the procedure, to ensure my immediate progress was coming along. I was still resting/drinking fluids to flush out the numbing agent from my system that made me a bit nauseous. Dr. Swihart, Dr. Uzelac, Kathy, and the DAG team really care about their patients! But everyone in this office is so family friendly that even our kids are not "scared" to go to the dentist. Dr Uzelac takes the time to explain everything before starting so the kids are not surprised by any procedures. Sealants, no problem! Tiny cavities, tackled! Cleanings, childs play! Really-the kids look forward to the toy they get to choose after each visit from the treasure chest. Mom's not so small cavities-hopefully the last-like new teeth!
