Herbst Veterinary Hospital has been caring for my golden retriever from the day after I got him at 6 weeks old to present day as he approaches his first birthday. I live in San Antonio and drive to Boerne in order for my dog to see these doctors. We've had over a dozen appointments in that time frame and the front desk is so helpful with scheduling appointments, especially on short notice. They also are very knowledgable and give great advice about misc. pet related things like health insurance. My dog sees Dr. Quinn mostly, but has seen other veterinarians when Dr. Quinn is not available, and they all provide the same high-level quality of care. When my dog had canine cough, the doctor (not Dr. Quinn because he was not in that day) came out to my car because he was contagious and provided care in the parking lot, including taking his temperature via rectal thermometer, which is no easy feat for an energetic and strong 60+ lb dog. I will never bring my dog anywhere else, so long as I live in San Antonio.
Now for the real gem: Dr. Quinn. Dr. Quinn has been a lifesaver as I've embarked on this journey of dog ownership on my own. I trust him unequivocally and it hasn't been an easy journey since my dog has allergies that can range from mild to severe. Dr. Quinn is always a calming influence on both my dog and me. I've seen him give my dog countless shots, scrape skin samples from painful looking sores to look at the cells under a microscope, and generally do things that dogs don't particularly like to my pup... And in spite of it all, my dog still LOVES Dr. Quinn! He does not fear the vet's office nor the exam room. He also neutered my dog and when I picked him up in the afternoon, my dog was happy as a clam, as if nothing happened! In addition, Dr. Quinn provides such a personalized level of service that I can call the office and leave a message for him and he will call me back that same day to discuss my concerns! He really is one-of-a-kind and I feel so blessed to have found him for my dog.
In short, the reviews don't lie. Herbst Veterinary Hospital has stellar reviews because it is a stellar healthcare facility. The reviews are what led me to choose this vet facility for my dog and I'm sure glad I did. You will not be disappointed.

The staff at Herbst Veterinary is awesome! They are also efficient. You're not waiting a long time to see the doctor. Dr. Quinn is the best!! So good to my dogs, they love him!

From the phone call to make an appointment Chris was very helpful and told me staff would help me get my dog into the building. As promised Tricia called Chris and Veronica to help once I arrived at the office. When Mr. Wilson was seen by Dr. Shaw after a short history of the problem, the Dr. And Veronica told me what needed to be done, they did what was needed and informed me of the results. Then help was given back to the car. Teresa offered her greetings to Mr. Wilson. What a great office!

Always compassionate and thorough. Dr. Shaw was new to me for my last appointment. She was just as incredible and caring as Dr. Quinn. I love the staff, too. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dr Quinn was GREAT! Loved on our puppy. Chatted about his pets. Made us both feel very relaxed and comfortable. Will enjoy going back.

The staff and the doctors are always there for not only treating Sunshine but me also. That's very rare. They get you in a room quickly even if you walk in with a special problem or an appointment. The receptionists remember my name when I call and know I'm Sunshines owner.
