St Matthews Animal Clinic

5 stars Customer since 1995

Our 12-year old cat was diagnosed during an annual checkup with a heart murmur on a Saturday, requiring further evaluation through an ultrasound procedure. St. Matthews Animal Clinic was able to arrange for the ultrasound through a third party doctor on the next Monday (i.e., faster than we could have imagined). The ultrasound (during which we were allowed to be present) confirmed some minor heart issues. No immediate treatment was recommended because our cat was showing no obvious signs of distress or discomfort. In my opinion, this shows their staff understands the need to evaluate the specifics of an issue and not automatically prescribe unnecessary medicines or procedures based on a common issue. We have been a client for well over 25 years because they identify practical solutions for our cats. The staff is and always has been extremely knowledgeable and caring.

Just not happy with the service for how expensive it is. $35 to scrape my dogs eye. And we didn't get the free nail trimming that was put on our bill.

I also have talked to the front desk about insurance money from the humane society and I have still heard nothing back, 4 months ago.

I will begin to look for a new vet.

Just disappointed.

Our little warm fuzzy seems to have recovered nicely from the dental work. Thanks!

People are all great. Wait times, not so much. Don't mind for myself, but my dogs are extremely anxious when they are there and having to wait in the waiting room or exam room for 10 minutes or more has them panting and shedding and in Jake's case whining. Not a game breaker because everything else is so wonderful.

Care was OK, but after I had paid for services, the only thing left was to get my dog and leave. We had to sit in the waiting room for 45minutes for someone to FINALLY bring out my dog. There were only two other customers there the entire time we waited. No clue why so much of my time was wasted while I was starving waiting to leave and get dinner.
