Love the shampoo and always a great haircut !

I went to Salon Ilo for an updo on Friday afternoon and it was a very unpleasant experience. The stylist, Ertan, asked me what I wanted and then acted very disapprovingly when I explained to him the style I was looking for. He was pretty unfriendly throughout the entire appointment. The updo was nothing like I wanted, and there was a mound of cotton in the back of my head that was clearly visible through my hair. It took me asking him three times, and 5 other people in the salon telling me you could see it, for him to attempt to fix it (including one customer who blatantly laughed at me). When he did finally attempt to fix the snow-ball looking blob on the back of my head, he put some sort of colored powder all over my hair to try to cover the conspicuous cotton. Finally, the woman behind the front desk talked to someone, and another man (Salvator I believe his name was) took the entire updo out and started over, which I was very grateful for. This second stylist was much friendlier, and more attentive to what I wanted. I still wasn't thrilled with how it came out, but it was much better than the first. I don't want to give every stylist at the salon a bad rep with this review, because I'm sure there are some talented employees, but I was very disappointed with my experience, especially because this salon is not cheap. It was also very frustrating that I had to keep pestering people to have Ertan fix the updo, considering everyone was staring at me like I had five heads.

I love everything about this salon. The styling, color, and cuts Ive received have always been superior, but what I love most is the family feeling. I know all the shampoo ladies and their aids, and they always ask me about my family and see to my every need with good will and humor. The manicurist has become an especially dear friend. I can't imagine this degree of professionalism, service and friendliness anywhere else.

The timing worked much better in my most recent visit. Almost no down time between color and cut.

The top notch colorist and hair stylist take over. The colorist (I use Kim) listens to what the client wants and explains the latest color advancements and techniques as well as new and fresh color choices.

The expert hair stylist then meets with you to discuss the cut you want. While listening, feeling the texture of your hair, and studying your facial features, suggestions are made to achieve your perfect look. The result - magnificent.

Oh yes, while relaxing with a beverage of your choice, delight with a manicure and pedicure for the ultimate finished look.

First-rate staff. Hair stylist and colorists are unsurpassed. A must do. For men and women. Indulge.
