Paul Mitchell The School - Sherman Oaks

The girl who did my hair was talking to her friend the whole time in another language. After she started processing my hair she went with her friend to get a juice at Robek's while my hair was getting lighter and lighter. I specifically told her 2 things: not too light, and not one straight line across. At the end it had a straight line and it was super light because she was gone so long getting her juice. Her excuse was that she "forgot" what I said about what I wanted with my hair. I know these students are learning, but she was lazy and tried not to have to wash my hair or put any toner in it even though the teacher told her to do it. She wasn't trying, she was just going through the motions. I did not get the hair I wanted, and I thought I was clear about it.

Every time I want to do something interesting or out of my norm, I always come to Paul Mitchell. Aja was extremely professional and it's clear she has the respect from her instructors.

Usually I have a better experience at Paul Mitchell but this time was a little different. It took about 10-15 minutes to be seated even though I had an appointment, but that is normal. The haircut itself took over 2.5 hrs and I wasn't happy with it in the end, I just needed to leave because it had been over 2 and a half hours already. I got my parking validated, but I still had to pay for parking because the haircut took so long. It was a frustrating experience.

Brooke Somes was wonderful. She was patient and fun and did exactly what I wanted. Very happy with my appt!

I know it takes awhile to cut hair here. But the girl who cut my hair, who was extremely nice, got to te pint where she was concerned about making a class. The end of the cut was rushed. I never saw the back of my hair until I got home and it was different lengths with a huge bit chopped out, totally uneven. But I do not blame this entirely on her. The supervisors did not check in as much as they should have. I to get my hair cut again just to make the cuts look intentional. I feel bad writing this because the girl who cut my hair was so nice and really tried but I just think she needed more supervision.

My future hairstylist Kat was amazing. She made me feel confident about my haircut and that I was in good hands. She also gave me a great recommendation on Paul Mitchell products. I can't wait to go for my next trim, especially if i'm in Kat's hands.

Tessa was incredible!! A was just ok with my haircut last time I went in, the layers were uneven and a few pieces hadn't been trimmed but I shook it off since it's a school. I decided to ask for a phase 2 student, and I was booked with Tessa. She took so much time to ask me about what I was looking for, and ended up giving me that best haircut I've ever had. I used to get my hair done at very exclusive hair salons, and her work definitely matched that.

I was there for 6.5 hrs to get root color, highlights and a haircut. It took over 2 hrs for partial highlights. I ran out of time for the haircut. And the kicker, the highlights don't "pop" . They just blend in as if they weren't done at all. I have to go back for a haircut.
