I went to Avante Salon & Spa for my birthday in September with my sister who was visiting me. Between the two of us - we spent close 3 hours and more than $430 ($520 including tip) at the spa - Including 2 massages, 2 body wraps & eye treatments. We both had great experience in terms of massages and the body treatments and I would give a four star rating if I had to review this place based on just these services. But when we went to the front desk to pay for our services that's when - I would say I felt insulted and it really ruined my experience. They had sent me a coupon of ?20% off one service? that I wanted to use and I had it validated over the phone before I got there and a note about it was placed on my appointment as well. When I asked them to apply the coupon to my bill the tone of the person at the front desk completely changed. They applied the coupon to the least expensive service ($45) and when I asked her if she could apply it to the most expensive one ($130) instead, she seemed very upset about it and started behaving like we were making an unfair request or it was too much work. But after making the change to the total, when I gave her my credit card to pay for the services - she ran it and then just tossed (literally) it on the table for me to pick it up and made no eye contact for the entire time. My sister was shocked for the way these 2 people at the front desk were behaving especially after the amount of money we had spent at that place. It was a very uncomfortable 10 min for both my sister and I! I felt insulted and cheap - really ruined what I thought was going to be the best part of my birthday. I probably will never go back there. After all, I was only using the coupon they sent me ? if they didn?t want me to use it ? they should have not sent it to me in the first place.
My 1 hr. massage with Melanie was fabulous. She is excellent at what she does. I think anyone would agree !
