My life, caring for my disabled son 24/7, is tough. OPTICAL ILLUSIONS and their Staff at Santana Row have worked diligently with me to try and meet my demanding life. Oh, not to mention the fact I live 65 miles away! The DOCTORS on Santana (both of them) not only give you an exam, they EDUCATE you and have never shown one hint of aggravation when you ask question after question! When you can't find a frame to fit your fancy that day...STAFF really wants you to get a frame to make life easier for YOU, not so they make a sale. I feel like a VIP at Santana...now that's really saying something for a farmer's daughter/truck driver's wife from Hollister!! Best optometric clinic! Great facility, friendly staff, and convenient location. I liked Dr. Gatschet's personable demeanor.

Dr. Gatschet is the best optometrist I have ever worked since I got glasses as a child long ago :). On this visit he corrected an issue that my opthamologist did not see!
He and the staff at Optical Illusions are skilled, friendly, and do a great job. I totally recommend them to anyone needing glasses.

I have been going here for over 5 years and every experience has been great!

With my first pair of glasses they remade my lenses three times because I had trouble using the High resolution lenses. The third time they found a different lense that works for me. The follow up service I received was exceptional whether if was for an adjustment or a repair.
I just went in yesterday and bought my second pair of glasses and was very pleased with the help I received from Tiffany Nguyen. She worked with me from picking out a new frame to answering all the questions I asked her. I was looking for something different in frames than you can find Costco, Kaiser or any of the large Stores.
I have had so many compliments on my glasses that I knew I would be a repeat customer.

Before I walked in, I knew exactly what I wanted and had already talked to one of the employees over the phone who confirmed the store could fulfill my request. The person who helped me (I think his name was Brett) was very helpful and friendly.

However, one negative that stood out was he never asked if I had an insurance plan. Most people who have something like VSP know to mention it in the store before purchase but this was the first time I could exercise VSP. Plus, I completely forgot I had coverage.

If this store is really looking out for the well being of their customers, employees should ask if the customer has insurance.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. My appointment was set up very quickly and the visit by itself went very well. O.D Steiner took his time and explained to me everything he was checking. I would definitively go back to Optical Illusions. I went there for contact lenses; my order arrived the next day. I did not change my glasses but they seem to have a large choice.

I was visiting SJ for few days so I went to check out the selection of glasses at Optical Illusions. I found what I was looking for: Cartier frameless glasses the size and shape of lenses that really fit my face.
Cartier is great when it comes to customizing lenses so I love the brand for my glasses. The problem is that few stores accept standard VSP. Optical Illusions has both: top brands and accepts VSP.
Since I was leaving SJ a day later they shipped my glasses to me. I'm very happy and thankful to find a business that takes every opportunity to provide amazing customer service. I like hearing YES, we can to all of my questions.
