I've been living in Chicago for the past 3 years (I'm a DePaul student) and I've been hesitant to go to a different salon other than the one I've been going to for over 6 year back home in Michigan. Most of the Chicago salons I've researched are way more expensive than what I'm used paying. A bunch of my sorority sisters recommended Salon V so I thought I would give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were at the same price point as my salon at home (around $40 for haircut, around $60 for highlights) and the staff is PHENOMENAL! They give the best scalp and head massaged and I always leave the salon completely relaxed. Ada is my to-go girl! She listens so well and makes great suggestions that always leave me looking fabulous! Such a great atmosphere and staff. Salon V will be my salon as long as I'm living in Chicago!
Veronica is awesome...
The administrative people moved me around from place to place while I was waiting for my turn, which was annoying. They put me in 3 separate places- and this is after calling me last minute to push back my appointment! I would much rather have just waited in the car or at the front of the store. However once it was my turn, it was awesome as always. Laura out did herself. She has a great personality, and amazing style- easily the best in the salon and definitely someone I would not mind looking like so I love when she does my hair :)
Excellent service, really happy with glaze color, and aveda hair spray!
Absolutely AWFUL!!! Originally my appointment was suppose to be a consultation for a haircut and a bang trim. I brought in 10+ pics (of myself) with the type of haircut I wanted and have had in the past. Amanda said she "totally understood" what I wanted and could fix it today but didn't have time for a wash. She didn't fix it at all!! Instead she took off most of my length and merely brought the length up to my longest layer, thus eliminating all the long layers in the base of the hair. My pictures showed face framing. Instead of creating layers around the crown that created face framing layers she proceeded to only point cut all around the face giving me a "mom-do" and not the "sexy hair cut" I had in mind. At first it was hard to tell if it was what I wanted but after working with it for a couple days it is still very disconnected, heavy, and shapeless!! I am just sick about it!!! All of fears came true and worst of all I got charged for a full service haircut and never got my hair wash. I felt someone rushed and that enough time was not allotted for a consolation let alone a cut.
Lovely experience, as always.
