The staff is wonderful, however, I had a couple of things I wanted to convey to you about this visit:
1) The visit took over 2 hours ? is this normal for a regular follow up yearly exam? I had not planned to be away from my job for this length of time. The technician had a lot of questions that I thought had been answered on a previous visit (med history, etc) and she said the office was transferring to a new database system and had to either re-enter information or update. Your office is usually pretty efficient so this was disappointing.
2) I had not originally intended to come in for an exam as my previous exam was only a year ago. My original call to the office was to re-order a supply of contacts. However, the office staff contacted me and encouraged me to come in for an exam saying that my insurance would cover it anyway. So, I came in and had the exam. Dr. Berry indicated that my Rx had minimally changed. Yet I was charged for another contact lense fitting (not paid by insurance). So, I will incur almost $100 in costs ($15 copay and $73 for contact lense fitting) for a visit that I didn?t even want but was encouraged to do. This is very frustrating to me. It feels to me like your office is making every effort to tack on charges and/or services that are not needed on a yearly basis.
In light of this, I would like to request that the $73 charge for contact lense fitting be eliminated from this visit. I also want to let you know that I am considering switching to a different eyecare specialist, one who will not attempt to add unnecessary charges to my bill. I only want the minimal necessary to maintain good eye health. Thanks for listening.
Dr. Hoven was very informative and kind as she took all of the necessary time to answer my questions and inform me of ideas to continue to improve my vision.
It was very good, Dr. Hoven is great.
Unfortunately, my visit was less than desirable. My appointment was at 3:10 and it was almost 4:00 before I got in. The receptionist checked in with me once to apologize for the wait and then a second time to ask if I wanted to reschedule. Dr. Standal only works 3 days a week, and insurance requires a set amount of time between visits making it a chore to reschedule.
I found staff rude on many levels. You need to fight for your perscription, PD, or help picking out frames. The woman with the long gray hair pretty much ruined it for me. I will be going somewhere else next year.
Good job, guys. Thanks for the concern and the great serviced.
